How to find us ...

The Potsdam INSELHOTEL can be found on the Potsdam Hermannswerder Island, located directly on the banks of the Templiner Lake and yet only 7 minutes by car to the centre of Potsdam and a further 30 minutes to the capital city of Berlin.

HOW TO GET TO THE POTSDAM INSELHOTEL HERRMANNSWERDER

By car from the direction of Hamburg, Hannover, Nuremberg:
Potsdam can be reached via the Berlin motorway ring (A 10)

• From the north-east via the A 11 (Prenzlau-Berlin),
• From the north-west via the A24 (Hamburg-Berlin),
• From the west via the A2 (Hannover-Berlin),
• From the south-west via the A9 (Munich-Berlin),
• From the south via the A13 (Dresden-Berlin),
• From the east via the A12 (Frankfurt/Oder-Berlin).
• Please take the Michendorf exit and follow the B2 in the direction of Potsdam.
• After reaching the city boundary of Potsdam turn left at the first set of traffic lights into Templiner Straße.
• After approx 500m you will find yourself on the right hand-side of a red brick archway. Directly beside this archway you will find the access road to Hermannswerder Island.
• Please continue straight on until the road forks.
• Take the left fork.
• After another 250m the Potsdam INSELHOTEL can be found on the left hand-side on the banks of the Templiner Lake.
• Or alternatively take the exit Potsdam Nord and drive in the direction of Potsdam-Zentrum on the B273 and then on in the direction of Caputh. A diversion via Brauhausberg is sign-posted.

By car from the direction of Berlin:
Direction Magdeburg/Hannover/Munich until AS Potsdam-Babelsberg.
You will now find yourself on Nuthe-Schnellstraße.

• Take the exit Friedrich-List-Straße (direction A 10 and Beelitz) and turn left into Friedrich-List-Straße.
• You drive past Potsdam Central Station and turn right onto Lange Brücke.
• After the next traffic light crossing turn right again via Brauhausberg in the direction of Caputh.
• At the second set of traffic lights turn right onto the B2 and then turn left at the next traffic lights into Templiner Straße.
• After approx 500m you will see a red brick archway on the right-hand side.
• Directly next to this archway you will find the access road to Hermannswerder Island.
• Please continue straight on until the road forks.
• Take the left fork.
• After another 250m the Potsdam INSELHOTEL can be found on the left hand-side on the banks of the Templiner Lake.

If you have a navigation system (GPS) then enter “Templiner Straße” and follow the signs to the hotel (the INSELHOTEL itself is located on a private road without a name). Or you click under special destinations on: Hotel: INSELHOTEL.

Attention! There are frequently many speed control checks on the island, so remember to abide by the traffic regulations!

By train:
The Potsdam Central Station is the main railway station. After Berlin there is a direct suburban connection every 10 minutes (S7). Berlin-Wannsee (15 km away) is an Intercity Express station. You can reach us comfortably from Potsdam Central Station in approx seven minutes by taxi or bus number 693 in the direction “Hermannswerder” disembarking at “Hoffbauer-Stiftung” bus stop. From here you can reach the INSELHOTEL by foot in approx 5 minutes going in a westerly direction.

By bus:

By plane:
From Berlin-Schönefeld Airport taking the R3 train (direction Dessau Central Station) until Potsdam Central Station.
From Berlin-Tegel Airport: Express X9 until Zoologischen Garten, and then change to the S7 going to Potsdam Central Station.

By ship or boat:
A special excursion by boat with the Weiße Flotte Potsdam (White Fleet of Potsdam) or by chartered boat. Moorings are available for use in our private hotel yacht harbor located directly at the front of the INSELHOTEL (in Hinterkappe Bay on Templiner Lake).

By water taxi:
From spring until autumn the Potsdam water taxi operates upon the River Havel. We have our own water taxi stop “Schiffsanleger INSELHOTEL.”

By ferry:
From spring until autumn the passenger ferry operates between Hermannswerder Island and the city banks of the Havel “Potsdam am Kiewitt.”
